Every year Rulesware loves to gather for our annual (and let’s face it, somewhat legendary) holiday parties … which occasionally spill into the new year. Bringing everyone together always feels special. Rulesware is one big family spread far and wide, and we love to connect, participate in fun team-building events together, celebrate the year’s wins, and—always—raise money for our favorite charities.
In 2018/2019 we held held three parties: one in El Salvador, one in Mexico, and the most recent in beautiful San Diego, on the marina and next to the historic Gaslamp quarter.
Rather than giving individual gifts to employees this year, we focused all of our giving on those in need. We’re proud to report that over the course of the weekend, Rulesware donated a total of $13,900 to organizations in need, with $10,000 distributed to charities that were chosen by our employees. It did us proud.
Activities included running an “Amazing Race” style scavenger hunt through old San Diego. Not only was it fun, the activity yielded a $1,500 to PATH (People Assisting the Homeless).
We also hosted a Paperclip Challenge, with the first-, second-, and third-placing teams each choosing a charity to receive our donations. As a result, the Texas Neurofibromatosis
Foundation received $5,000; Engineers Without Borders received $3,000, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation received $2,000.
We also had our teams design and play on various mini-golf courses made entirely of canned food, resulting in a $2,400 donation to the San Diego Food Bank, where $50 feeds 250 people.
At Rulesware we are grateful for our team, grateful for all we have, and humbled to be able to give back. We could not be more proud of our team members, who truly show us what the holiday spirit is all about.
