New Rulesware Giving Program Puts the Focus on Community

rulesware giving program

Last fall Rulesware announced a new set of core values—and have begun taking steps to ensure that we live those values every single day.

The value of Community, for example,  is not just about building the best company community and client communities. It’s about committing to building and supporting important communities outside of Rulesware, too.

The spirit of giving has always been important within our culture and our company—whether we’re assembling bikes in the United States for disadvantaged kids or rolling up our sleeves to repair a school in El Salvador. We’re now building on that with this new program, hoping to contribute to Community in an even greater way.

The Rulesware Giving Program is a formal program designed to give back to our communities in meaningful and impactful ways, further build our culture and brand, and encourage employee engagement.

Service, Donation Matching, and Volunteer Time Off

The new Rulesware Giving Program has three core elements that we believe will impact people, communities, and our organization in positive ways.

Service projects

Sponsoring service projects in the United States, El Salvador, and Mexico—the places we work—and empowering Rulesware employees and community partners to carry them out is a key part of our giving program. Past service projects include repairing a soccer field at a school for disadvantaged students and delivering holiday gifts to children in foster care.

Donation matching

Matching charitable donations by employees in December of each year, up to a predetermined amount, is a way for employees to engage with charitable organizations and see the impact of their contributions double. Employees choose where their donations go so that the funds go to causes that resonate with them.

Volunteer time off

Providing paid volunteer time off (VTO) to Rulesware employees sets a positive example for others in the Rulesware family. Eligible leaders can take up to 40 hours, paid, throughout the year to get involved, give back, and engage with the community. Two of our employees, for example, recently spent a day planting trees, and another recently volunteered for a Habitat for Humanity project.

As one of our recent service projects, we helped the kids and families of Naríz Roja in Mexico have a dia magico at Kidzania.

Every year, as part of this program, Rulesware allocates a portion of our net profits to match any monetary donations our employees give in December.

We’re proud and humbled to be able to give back. We’re looking forward to finishing up 2019 with more giving, more community-building, and a generous holiday season.
