“One of the best things about working at Rulesware is that if you have an idea, the leadership team will listen.“
By Ashish Sharma
I was employee #19 at Rulesware, when I joined the company in 2010. Back then we could all fit in one room for a holiday party, so I have definitely seen a lot of growth. This growth has given me countless new challenges & opportunities to grow and improve myself.
I began at Rulesware as a Systems Architect with no Pega experience, so everything was new to me.
I was very happy to be able to work with some of Rulesware’s senior team members, including Ji-Yoon In, David McPhail & Manoj Sarvepalli. They were great mentors to me, and always open to feedback. This made it possible for me to learn – and advance – very quickly. In my 3 ½ years with Rulesware I was first promoted to Senior Consultant and am now playing the Lead System Architect role at our largest client.
I did have the opportunity to join a larger company, at the time that I was considering Rulesware, but I believed that Rulesware would give me better opportunities to advance my career and my skills. I’m glad I made that choice. I have been able to significantly advance my technical skills, but also my management & leadership skills. I have been given the opportunity to manage a diverse range of projects, and build experience in everything from management to recruiting. There is also a lot of room for exploration and learning, which I know would be harder to find at a larger company.
One of my most exciting challenges was leading Rulesware’s first engagement utilizing our near-shore team in El Salvador.
It was wonderful to see the motivation and dedication of the El Salvador team, and I enjoyed the experience of working through the initial humps and then quickly being able to show our financial services client our ability to deliver successfully using this new engagement model. This project also gave us the chance to establish the quality of our work and methodology, and to prove our ability to delivery end-to-end as a scrum team.
My favorite things about working at Rulesware are that, if you have any idea, the leadership team will listen. The most junior employees can go up to the any member of the leadership team with ideas and suggestions.
I also feel very proud of the effort that our team puts into each & every project. Our clients recognize this, and often consider Rulesware to be their strategic partner, putting great value on the input of our team members. It is great to know that both my managers and my clients value my ideas, each day that I come to work.
