Engineer Edgardo Hernandez has been with Rulesware since 2012. Edgardo attended PegaWORLD for the very first time this year, and here he shares with us the top three highlights of the event for him.
When I set out for PegaWORLD, I really did not know what to expect. Fortunately Emma and Marshall provided valuable insight during some prep sessions that eased my nerves a little bit. They said that ultimately connecting with people is all about being yourself, which took away a lot of the pressure for me. I have never been to an event of such magnitude—I was amazed by the level of organization in all aspects: from buses, to keynote sessions, dinners and other off site events, it was a whirlwind. There was of course a strong sales aspect at the conference but what surprised me is that there were also so many great opportunities for learning. We got to learn about highlighted features, and some interesting success cases. We can apply a lot of that learning internally.
And now in no particular order, I present the top three highlights of PegaWORLD 2015, from my perspective.
- Customer Appreciation Event. It’s not all work and no play at PegaWORLD! We had the opportunity to go to Universal Studios, enjoyed different buffet options for dinner and later they closed the place for the public and we were free to explore and go to any ride available. (The Harry Potter and Spiderman rides were the best ones for sure.)
- Booth Time. I loved being able to help in the booth; the number of people that I was able to meet and greet was incredible. It was fun to hand out our water bottles and mugs. I felt that the response was overwhelming. I also loved having the chance to meet some of the clients and see how grateful and happy they were with the work Rulesware has done for them.
- Keynotes and Sessions. I got the chance to attend even more sessions than I expected! After Pega7 I think Pega is more aggressive with new features and there is a lot to learn in every release. One of the things that really caught my attention was the new Pega Express, which allows you to create prototype applications quickly.
